The European Union has promised to speed up the introduction of a simplified visa regime for Ukrainians, EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule has said, according to Interfax-Ukraine.
The EU will speed up the relaxation of visa requirements for Ukrainians, Fule said on Wednesday at the beginning of an extended meeting of the Ukrainian government with the participation of European politicians.
According to him, European officials understand that these efforts can be implemented only with the active participation of the Ukrainian side.
The European commissioner also said that in these hard times the country urgently needed to take certain important decisions. And the adoption of resolutions and bills can settle the matter of the liberalization of the visa regime in a very short time, Fule said. He expressed hope that they would soon move from the first to the second stage of this process.
