The season of 2017 turned to be unsuccessful for the Crimean gardeners, Andrei Ryumshin, the so-called "Agriculture minister" of the annexed Crimea, said.

According to him, some of the gardeners called it even catastrophic. The reason for this was the cold spring, which had a negative effect on the entire agriculture of the annexed peninsula.

"In particular, cold spring brought frost and hail - disasters for everyone who deals with fruit," Ryumshin said.

The official noted that individual households lost their entire harvest and suffered a loss of up to 300 million rubles.

Thus the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia Great had to compensate the losses.

Earlier, the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov noted that the longer the Crimean occupation of Russia will continue, the more the situation in the agrarian sector will exacerbate. This means displacement of ethnic Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars from the Crimea, who are traditionally employed in the agriculture of the peninsula.

He made a corresponding statement during the round table "The current state and prospects for the development of agriculture in the temporarily occupied Crimea."
