According to the self-appointed staff of "Crimean customs," in the period from January to September 2016, imports of Crimea fell twice compared to the same period last year.
In particular, during the 3rd quarter of 2016 the total volume of imports in terms of cash equivalent amounted to $ 48.8 million, but in the same period of 2015 - $ 88.7 million.
The "Crimean customs" also voiced the main partners for imports in the annexed Crimea: Russia (occupant), Italy, Switzerland, Armenia and Kazakhstan.
In 2015, Ukraine was the main importer of Crimea, providing 41% of imports. According to international law, the Crimea is part of Ukraine.
It was reported earlier that the ships of some EU countries that recognized the occupation of Crimea, continue to violate international law and to import goods into the territory of the peninsula.
