"Development Corporation in the Republic of Crimea," informs that Italian company Ecologia e Ambiente is planning to invest more than 300 million euros in the development of viticulture and winemaking in the Crimea, according to TASS.
It is noted that representatives of the company visited the occupied Crimea for the first time in April 2016. Since then, the corporation’s experts have been working on "selection of land plots that meet the requirements of the Italian side and suitable for growing grapes."
On Monday, the Italian delegation arrived to Crimea again, in the framework of a trip around the peninsula, to examine and evaluate the suggested lands.
- The land will be assessed in terms of the soil properties and climatic conditions by an oenologist, agronomist and specialist in seedlings, the members of the working group on the part of the Ecologia e Ambiente company, - the corporation informs.
It should be reminded that the EU sanctions on investment and trade with the peninsula annexed by Russia came into force in December 2014.
European and European-based companies can not acquire property, finance companies or provide them with appropriate services in Crimea. Tour operators from EU countries are prohibited to offer tourist services in Crimea and Sevastopol.
