ODESA (QHA) -

The Odesa Primorsky District Court issued the order for seizure of 27 vessels and 33 non-residential premises of the “Chornomornaftogaz” company, illegally appropriated by the Russian leadership, the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine press service reported

“On May 30, 2017, the Odesa Primorsky District Court investigative judge issued the order for seizure of 27 vessels and 33 non-residential premises of Chernomornaftogaz, which were illegally appropriated in the temporarily occupied territory of the Crimea peninsula, the report said.

In addition, it is noted that the prosecutor's office has already sent a letter to the INTERPOL National Central Bureau for Ukraine on the introduction of these drilling rigs and vessels into the search database.

Earlier QHA reported that in 2014, during the annexation of the Crimea, the drilling platform, owned by Ukrainian “Chornomornaftogaz” SJSC, was illegally seized by the Russian Federation.

On September 14, 2016, Ukraine initiated a dispute with Russia about the violation of UN Law of the Sea Convention. Ukraine declares and is ready to prove in arbitration that the Russian Federation violates the sovereign rights of the Ukrainian state for the use of its marine areas and the continental shelf in the maritime zones adjacent to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, including the rights to the continental shelf natural resources. Ukraine demands to cease Russian Federation violations of Ukrainian rights and to compensate the damage caused.

On February 6, the Odesa Primorsky District Court granted the application of the Ukraine Ministry of Internal Affairs Main Department and seized four floating drilling rigs owned to Chornomornaftogaz state company and been captured during the Russia annexation of Crimea.
