Canada intends to transfer CAD 28 million to Ukraine for the purchase of new equipment, and thus to increase milk production to international standards, according to TSN.
The project is designed for 5 years, and the investment will be divided between Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson regions.
Canada's Ambassador to Ukraine Roman Vashchuk said that the cooperative movement in his home country has billions of dollars in turnover, and therefore Canadian colleagues will share their experiences with Ukrainians.
“We have strong and modern cooperatives, as well as highly developed dairy production. We have a specially designed agency for the cooperative development abroad,” said Vashchuk.
The companies that have been allocated money for the modernization of production will be able to purchase laboratory equipment, create milk deports and equip special milking stations directly on the pastures.
