Today, the outstanding actor Vladimir Zeldin celebrates his 101st birthday. He plans to mark it on the stage of the Central Academic Theatre of the Russian Army were he has been performing for 71 years.

Vladimir Zeldin is a legend actor born in 1915 (in the Tsarist Russia period). His name as the only actor playing at such a venerable age was entered into the Guinness Book of Records. He gained fame after releasing The Pig-tender and the Shepherd film in 1941.
The actor has always thought well of Ukraine. His first wife Lucy Martynova was a Kyiv resident and lived in Podil District.
“I was in Kyiv more than once, and if I had time I always visited Lesya Ukrainka National Academic Theater of Russian Drama, Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater and the National Opera of Ukraine. There were outstanding loud-voiced artists: singing and moving well. Ukraine has a warm aura - not only in terms of a unique nature, the Dnieper River… Your country is amazing and unique,” he said in his interview with a journalist Dmitry Gordon.
