Unique exhibition to open in Bakhchisaray

Exhibition “Gift to museum- Tito Herre collection” to open in Bakhchisaray July 18, press service of Bakhchisaray Historical and Cultural Reserve reports.

The exhibition will present items related to Crimean Tatar ethnography and history. German collector Tito Herre presented all the exhibits to Bakhchisaray Reserve.

Among the exhibits there are rare Crimea maps and engravings of XVI – XVIII centuries, depicting Crimean Khans, ambassadors and Ukrainian Hetmans.

There are also unique items made of copper used in Ottoman Turkey, same items were used in Crimea in XVI – XIX.

“This costly present merits the profound respect and gratitude”- reads the statement of the reserve.

To recall, Tito Herre presented unique pieces in 2012 and 2013, among them bronze candlestick of Ottoman era and rare maps. All the items were bought at auctions.
