Ukrainian poet and writer Serhiy Zhadan won the prestigious Angelus Prize for his novel "Mesopotamia".

According to cultprostir.ua, the list of nominees for the award included three Ukrainian authors: Dzvinka Matiyash with a "Novel about the Homeland," Vasily Slapchuk, author of "The Book of oblivion", and Natalia Snyadanko with the book «Lubczyk na poddaszu». Earlier the Angelus Prize was given to the Ukrainian writers Oksana Zabuzhko (2013) and Yuri Andrukhovych (2006).

Reminder: Angelus Literary Prize, established in the city of Wroclaw in 2006, is bestowed for the best prose book in Polish.
