Following the performance in the final for the national selection, the famous Ukrainian performers Andrey Khlyvnyuk (Boombox), Jamala and Svyatoslav Vakarchuk (Okean Elzy) congratulated winner of the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, band O.Torvald. The frontman of the band Evgeny Galich said at a press conference in Kyiv, according to QHA correspondent.
“Khlyvnyuk phoned, he said it would be difficult and advised to be ourselves and not to overween,” Galich said.
In turn, Jamala also congratulated the musicians, and Vakarchuk advised to learn better English.
Apart from the celebrities, Galich was congratulated to the victory by his daughter Eve, who said that "daddy is better than Monatik".
February 25, a rock band called O.Torvald with their song Time became a winner of national selection for Eurovision 2017, and will represent Ukraine at the vocal Song Contest.
In 2016 in Stockholm, the Ukrainian singer of Crimean Tatar origin Jamala won Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "1944", dedicated to the Deportation of the Crimean Tatars. As a result of the national jury vote of the member countries and SMS voting of viewers Jamala scored 534 points. After its victory Ukraine won the right to host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2017.
