CONSTANTA (QHA) -

Supported by the Romanian authorities, the International Festival of Turkic-Tatar national costumes, folk dances and songs took place in Constanta, September 2-3. The Festival was held with the participation of the Democratic Union of Romania Crimean Tatars (RMTTDB).

The folk groups from Ukraine, Turkey, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Lithuania, Georgia and Romania participated in the Festival. The event was attended by the Turkish Ambassador to Romania Osman Koray Ertash, Consul General of Turkey, Ali Boz Çalışkan, the Coordinator of the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) Hacı Ahmet Daştan, the Director of the cultural center named after Yunus Emre Ali Oguzhan Yüksel, the Deputy Chairman of the Turkish-Romanian Businessman Society Ali Riza Cosca and others.

At the opening ceremony, the Head of the Democratic Union Celil Esergep expressed gratitude for the support of the Crimean Tatars in Romania. In his speech, he stressed that Crimean Tatar brethren in the occupied Crimea need such support as well. The Turkey's Ambassador Osman Koray Ertash spoke about the importance of systematic work regarding the Crimean Tatars in Romania and Turkey:

“I am very glad to be among you. It is so great that you are here! I want to thank the Chairman [RMTTDB - Ed.], the Mufti and all of you. For what? For the wonderful atmosphere created.”
