Simferopol (QHA) - The first Crimean Tatar movie ‘Haytarma’ has a chance to be nominated for Oscar Academy Award from Ukraine in the category ‘best foreign language film’, said movie director and producer Ahtem Seytablayev to QHA news agency. In turn, creative director of ATR Ayder Muradosilov said to QHA that at present such possibility is reviewed. “Currently we are reviewing possibilities of participating in many film festivals, including Oscar 2014”, said Muradosilov. According to Seytablayev, after the movie was shown in Kyiv he was approached by representatives of the Ukrainian Oscar Committee with proposal to nominate the movie for Oscar Academy Award 2014 from Ukraine. “The Ukrainian Oscar Committee offered us to nominate ‘Haytarma’ for Oscar from Ukraine. I am very realistic about the movie, but the fact that the whole state of Ukraine is ready to nominate the Crimean Tatar movie that covers such tough issue as deportation, is already a lot. Any news about our movie will contribute to coverage of Crimean Tatar theme”, said Seytablayev. It should be noted that on August 1 the Ukrainian Oscar Committee announced a call for participation in the selection of Ukrainian movies for Oscar nomination in the category ‘best foreign language film’. Applications will be accepted till August 30. As informed earlier, the first Crimean Tatar movie ‘Haytarma’ will be presented at IX International Muslim Film Festival in Kazan (Russia) out of competition. The festival will be held on September 5-11, 2013 and will feature movies from Russia, Europe, Asia and CIS countries.
