Crimean Engineering and Pedagogical University (CEPU) has presented first Crimean Tatar cartoon ‘Kind ant’ (Crimean Tatar: Merametli Qaryndzha) in the frameworks of “Friendship bridge-Crimea-Tatarstan” conference, Sept 25.

The cartoon is the first one of its kind in the history of Crimean Tatar culture. Based on Crimean Tatar folk tale, it was created jointly by animation studio “Tatarmultfilm” (city of Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia) and “Krimtatarmultfilm”—newly opened studio of CEPU.

It took half a year to create the cartoon.

“This was serious work, some of 100 people worked on creation of the cartoon. There were painters, actors, ethnographers and specialists on culture. For every ornament in the cartoon, there is Crimean Tatar national character, national coloration”- director of Tatarmultfilm Azat Ganiev said.

The author of the soundtrack is Crimean Tatar composer and singer Server Kakura.

The cartoon lasts 4 minutes. The sequel to the cartoon-- 10 series of cartoon about the ant to be released soon.
