Film by Crimean Tatar director to be shown in Palm Springs

The film "Without You (Sensiz)”directed by Nariman Aliyev was selected for ShortFest Film Festival in Palm Springs.

A short film "Without You (Sensiz)” directed by Nariman Aliyev, a Crimean Tatar, will be shown at the 22nd International Film Festival ShortFest in Palm Springs (USA), Aliyev posted  on his Facebook page.

“The film was selected for the Film Festival in Palm Springs,” the director wrote.

ShortFest Festival in Palm Springs is the largest showcase of short films in North America. Some 327 films from 54 countries will be screened at this year's festival, which will take place on June 21- 27 in California. The Festival winners will be announced on Sunday, June 26.

The film by Ukrainian director is listed in the "Best Feature Film" category. In the case of victory the Aliyev's short film will be automatically considered by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) for a possible Oscar nomination.

The premiere screening of short film "Without You (Sensiz)” directed by Nariman Aliyev was held at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival, where it was shown in the short films section of Generation program.
