The book of Ihor Pavlyuk 'A Flight over the Black Sea’ was recognized as the best one following the results of the open voting, organized by English PEN Center.

The voting was held within the World Bookshelf program with the participation of more than 100 books from around the world.

‘A Flight over the Black Sea’ book of poems was translated by Steve Komarnyckyj and published by Waterloo Press in 2014.  

“Ihor Pavlyuk invites us to roam about the forests of Ukraine, sipping vodka from a flask and watching pagan deities flicker among birches,” reads the annotation to the book. 

Ihor Pavlyuk, a Ukrainian poet, writer and scientist, was born in Volyn region and awarded with T. Shevchenko and other national awards.
