Putin’s character would be a very, very, very interesting role, I would like to play him, a Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio said in an interview with the German newspaper Die WelA.
The actor told he personally knows the Russian president as he met the latter in 2010 at a forum in St. Petersburg that was dedicated to tiger rescue in Siberia. Back then DiCaprio represented his own fund supporting conservation of wild predators.
The actor said he is interested in the Russian history and he would like to play other Russian figures of different periods - Vladimir Lenin and Grigori Rasputin.
Leonardo DiCaprio has played 30 different roles in movies.
Five times the actor was nominated for "Oscar", but has never received it. This year, he has the opportunity to receive an Academy Award for the role in "The Revenant."
