Crimean Committee of Muslims aims to revive Crimean Tatar embroidery

The Committee of Muslims of Crimea started courses on traditional Crimean Tatar embroidery, informs press service of the Committee.

The courses are held by experienced craftswomen who have many years of teaching practice. Namely, lessons on theoretical knowledge are held by art historian and costume designer Venera Kurmayeva; practical workshops are provided by master of art embroidery and gold embroidery Khalide Kipchakova.

The courses are held by the Fund of revival of Crimean Tatar Culture named after Professor S. Izidinov and by Agency of national ceremonies ‘Merdjan’ with the support of the Committee of Muslims of Crimea.

The courses will last for five months; upon completion students will receive certificates of master of 3rd and 4th categories (depending on the chosen embroidery technique).

Previously, Venera Kurmayeva and Khalide Kipchakova had successfully held Crimean Tatar embroidery courses in several Crimean cities and towns.
