Yesterday, June 8, the Concert Hall of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine hosted an anniversary concert of a Crimean Tatar composer Merzie Khalitova.

The event was attended by the composer’s compatriots, as well as Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Refat Chubarov, who congratulated the talented author.

- The stars have shone among the Crimean Tatars in Kiev. It is very symbolic. I believe in people who impart our energy to the others. Jointly with us these people do everything so that we will gather in our Crimean land in the near future, said the Mejlis Chairman.

Refat Chubarov also shared his plans on the future return of Crimea.

- I know what kind of music will sound when we return to Crimea, and I know who will be the author, he stressed.

Merzie Khalitova’s music was performed by the National Ensemble of Soloists "Kyiv Camerata" and the winners of the international competitions such as Maria Kiyah (flute), Elena Arbuzova (soprano), Mariana Scripa (violin) and others. An artistic director and chief conductor was the People's Artist of Ukraine Valery Matyuhin, reported a QHA correspondent.
