Christmas Fair launched in Pokrovsky Monastery

In addition to Orthodox icons and books, one can also find monastery honey and handicrafts.

With the blessing of the Kharkiv and Bogodukhov Bishop Onuphry the Pokrovsky Monastery hosted an Orthodox Christmas Fair. The event gathered representatives of monasteries and parishes from all over Ukraine, including Lugansk, Donetsk and Crimea.

The QHA newsman talked to Ina, a parishioner of the St. Nicholas Monastery from Crimea.

- I wouldn't like to talk about politics, but our ancient monastery is in the bosom of the canonical Church and we won’t split off the rest Orthodox people, we will not. With the blessing of the abbot, I arrived to show our relics belonging to all without exception, told a parishioner.

In the tent of the monastery the QHA newsman found a publication dedicated to the Ukrainian soldiers "Prayers of Orthodox warrior. Save Ukraine peaceful and united. "

In addition to Orthodox icons and books, the monastery honey and handicrafts were also presented at the fair.

Father Nestor, one of the fair organizers, said:

- We hold such fairs three times a year on the eve of Christmas, Easter and the Intercession of the Theotokos. This is 10th Christmas Fair.
