Boris Grebenshchikov, leader of Aquarium rock band group, took part in the human rights organization Amnesty International’s annual letter writing marathon and put his name to the appeal to release Ukrainians Oleg Sentsov, Alexander Kol'chenko and Gennady Afanasyev accused of terrorism in Russia, Sergei Nikitin, Director of the Russian Representative Office of Amnesty International, wrote in his blog for Echo of Moscow.

“That this year Boris Grebenshchikov, without hesitation, agreed to take part in the most important world Marathon - Amnesty International’s Letter Writing Marathon. Today, the musician has signed a petition to the authorities of the United States, Syria, El Salvador and Uzbekistan. And most importantly, Boris has signed the letter to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation to take urgent measures and overturn Oleg Sentsov, Alexander Kol'chenko and Gennadi Afanasyev’s disproportionate sentences imposed on charges of terrorism. He called to present them with the appropriate charge or release them,” Nikitin reports.
