Kazan (QHA) - The legendary Turkish actress Aydan Sener has Crimean Tatar and Tatar roots. She spoke about this during a press conference on September 10 in Kazan (Russia), reports tatar-inform. The actress arrived in the capital of Tatarstan as an honorary guest of the IX International Festival of Muslim Film in Kazan with her farther and aunt. As explained by creative director of the Crimean Tatar channel ATR Ayder Muradasilov, the actress is a member of the Crimean delegation to Kazan to present at the festival the first Crimean Tatar movie “Haytarma”. It is the first feature movie, which tells about the deportation of Crimean Tatars from Crimea in 1944. The movie was demonstrated in the framework of the festival in Kazan. According to the actress, this is her third time in Kazan. Besides Kazan, she has been to Moscow. Aydan Sener also noted that after the success of the series Çalıkuşu (“Goldcrest is a singing bird”), she had a big number of proposals to come to Russia. The actress told about her Tatar roots. “My grandmother’s father is from Kazan, and grandmother’s mother is a Crimean Tatar. This is the second time I bring my farther to Kazan, he loves this city very much. This time I took my aunt along with us”, she said. Aydan Sener is now actively involved in the theater. In December there will be a premiere of the play with her participation. She also plans to participate in several TV projects. Ayder Muradasilov informed that the Crimean ATR channel is planning to shoot a series about Crimean Khanate. Aydan Sener will participate. After return to Crimea from Kazan, she will study the script.
