An exhibition with a difference has opened its high-security doors near Paris. Nine inmates from Sud Francilien jail – an hour’s drive south of the French capital – have turned curators for the showcase, reports Euronews.

The exhibition is entitled “Journey” and is a provocative but deliberate choice by the inmates, many of whom have spent a long time behind bars.

As reported, 89 paintings from the Louvre, the Picasso Museum and the Natural history Museum are displayed there.

It should be noted all the exhibits are original masterpieces.

The display will run until November 17.

The prison’s director hopes this will be the first of many cultural projects to help with rehabilitation of inmates.
