Draft Programme on formerly deportees submitted to Cabinet

AQMESCIT/ SIMFEROPIL (QHA) - A draft Programme of resettlement of formerly deported Crimean Tatars and other ethnicities, their adaptation and integration in Ukrainian society for the period until 2015 has been submitted for the consideration by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. This is reported by the Head of the Permanent Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (VR ARC) on Interethnic Relations and Problems of Formerly Deported Citizens, Remzi İlâs, who took part in parliamentary hearings ‘Ethnic policy of Ukraine: achievements and prospects.’
According to the VR ARC’s press service, Mr. İlâs has met with First Deputy Social Policy Minister, Mr. Vasyl Nadraha, and discussed the Programme of resettlement of formerly deportees, under which in 2012 the national budget will allocate UAH 25 million, in 2013 – UAH 50 million, in 2014 – UAH 225 million, in 2015 – UAH 248 million.
“The Programme is submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for legal examination. There is a confidence that it will be adopted,” R. İlâs said.
The sides also discussed completion of the school construction in the micro-district of Yağmurça (Aqmescit/ Simferopil district) intended for children living in four settlements densely populated by the Crimean Tatars. The issue of funding this facility will be considered following implementation of the state budget for the first quarter of 2012.
“It will be a good help in solving the problems of resettlement of formerly deported citizens as well as their social and cultural development,” the head of the VR ARC’s Permanent Commission stressed.
