Decision on time computation order postponed KYIV (QHA) - The Government of Ukraine has postponed on Wednesday a decision on time computation order, said Ukrainian Minister of Emergency Situations, Victor Baloha, according to Ukrainian News.
On January 25, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine considered a draft law submitted by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, destined to adjust this issue.
But after the discussion they decided to continue the deliberation.
Baloha said that Prime Minister Mykola Azarov is planning to hold a counsel on the question.
He added that the draft law submitted by the Economic Ministry supposes abolition of daylight saving (advancing clock time one hour in spring and setting it back in autumn).
In course of the discussion Vice Prime Minister / Infrastructure Minister Borys Kolesnykov spoke in favour of switching the time zone to UTC+3 and remaining there.
Earlier, Emergency Minister advocated synchronization of daylight savings with the European Union.
In September 2011, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed a resolution to cancel the country’s transition to the 'winter time'.
This decision provoked discontent with the western Ukrainian authorities - as was noted, light would grow there as late as at 10 a.m. with abolition of daylight saving.
In October 2011, Parliament resumed daylight savings.
