  Crimea gets deeper into World Wide Web AQMESCIT/ SIMFEROPIL (QHA) - In 2011 communications enterprises and operators of Crimea provided service to the consumers of postal services and communication in the amount of UAH 926.1 million which is 8.5% more than in 2010, the Main Department of Statistics of Crimea has reported.
The highest demand was for mobile services (44%), fixed-line city and village telephony (17%) and computer communication (13%).
Compared to 2010, income from computer service increased by 18% and amounted to UAH 118 million, of which 92% is obtained at the expense of providing broadband Internet access.
Almost half of the revenue of postal and communication companies was received from the population. In 2011 the population was provided with services in the amount of UAH 459.5 million, which is 11% more than in 2010. Nearly one third of this indicator is formed by the provision of fixed telephony, and 36% - mobile.
