Crimea creates environmental monitoring network AQMESCIT/ SIMFEROPIL (QHA) - A single regional network of environmental monitoring, mechanisms of integrated assessment, forecasting and environmental management is being created in Crimea. This was discussed in the Interagency Commission under the Crimean Council of Ministers on the Monitoring of Environment of Crimea.
Dmytro Tatarov, Acting Head of the Republican Committee for Environmental Protection, informed on the implementation of the Programme of regional environmental monitoring of Crimea for 2010-2013. He said that in 2011, Crimea spent UAH 200,000 to purchase modern equipment for monitoring.
It was also noted that a system of local monitoring will be launched next year at Crimea Titan PJSC as well as other industrial sources of pollution.
Up-to-date laboratory equipment will be acquired for regional monitoring centres.
It is also planned to assess the ecological situation of regional natural systems.
