  Agriculture leader of economic growth AQMESCIT/ SIMFEROPIL (QHA) - In 2011, all key real economy branches of Crimea, except the construction, showed a stable growth, according to the press service of the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
Last year saw the change of leaders of economic growth. A positive economic performance in 2011 was largely due to agricultural production, investment activity (foreign and domestic), internal market development, as expressed in the high growth rates in passenger, freight transport and retail trade, whereas in 2010 industry ranked first.
As a result of 2011, growth rates in agriculture accounted for 10.5%, due to increasing crop production by 19%. The volume of industrial production went up by 4.3% compared to 2010, with the observed slowdown in industrial production since the beginning of the year.
A positive dynamics was also shown by the domestic-oriented economic activities. In particular, retail trade (in the reporting period it increased by 16.3%, which is twice as higher as in 2010) and transport (which increased passenger traffic by 5%, cargo turnover - by 3.3%).
In January-November 2011, enterprises of the real sector performed a financial result in the amount of UAH 1.2 billion, which five times higher than the same period of 2010.
In general, 2011 was marked in Crimea by the stabilization of basic industries, the growth of investment activity, improvement of situation in the labour market and the slowdown in inflation dynamics.
