1 killed, 9 wounded at Luhansk Oblast mine

LUHANSK (QHA) - One coalman was killed and nine injured in the accident that occurred at the Kosmonavtiv coalmine owned by the Rovenky-Antratsyt state enterprise in the town of Rovenky in Luhansk Oblast on Thursday morning, Interfax-Ukraine informs referring to the Ukrainian Emergencies Ministry’s press service.
The accident happened at a depth of 780 meters when a rope broke during the lowering of a platform with metal pipes. As a consequence, a pipe fell and killed a miner and injured nine other miners.
The victim's body was brought to the surface after one-and-a-half hours.
The mine is now operating normally.
